Tip #2: Your participants have a limited patience

It is really important to think like a participant when you are preparing a contest. In addition to the attractive aspects (theme of your contest, prizes, etc.) which are very important, it is also imperative to take into account the number of questions and their complexity, in order not to discourage your participants. Questions : For both quiz and surveys, participants are invited to answer some questions (about the brand, about themselves). If the interactivity is reinforced, don’t exaggerate the number of questions and their complexity. Experience has shown us that a quizz including between 3 and 5 question was perfect to get a maximum of participation. Faced with the difficulty, the reaction of the entrants is quite easily predictable. Some of them will hang up, when a majority will let down. Don’t forget that you can display some clues to help them, and compensate the difficulty of the questions. Your clues can link to your website and make the participants looking for informations from your company without even knowing it. Participation form In the same way that for questions, be careful not to overcharge the participation form. Obtaining a qualified database is very important (often the major objective), but you will discourage your participants if your form is too long, or looks too inquisitive. Ask mainly shorts questions, and why not a long one. Be also careful to the construction of the questions of a private nature. Our other tips : Tip #1 : Communicate efficiently on your contest Another tip next week...

Google reveals its social network: Google+

Google has released its social network a few days ago. Having missed the boat a few years, Facebook has had time to get ahead, but Google looks forward to catch up in this market. The site is currently limited to individuals but businesses profiles should not take long to emerge given the increasing demand. The interface: Google has used the release of her social network to implement its new graphic chart to all of its services (Search, Calendar, Maps, Mail, etc.). Google+ interface is of course simplistic allowing an easy handling and an easy navigation. Google+ centralize some of its existing services such as Picasa for photo albums or Gtalk for instant messaging and is also enhanced with original features. The Circles: On Google +, you organize your contacts in circles. For example you can add people in a friend circle, a family one or a work one. You can even create new circles and call them as you wish. Your contacts are informed that you added in a circle but can not know what circle it is. When you share a content, you can choose to share it to all of your circles, extented circles (the circles of people you have in your circles), choose one determined circles or to anyone (public content). Sparkles: You want to receive information about a center of interest without having to search? Sparkles were created with this goal. This is research you save on Google+, then Google takes care to send you relevant information using a different algorithm than the one of its search engine. The information comes directly to you and can feed your discussions with your contacts using the sharing feature. Hangouts: This is the videocalling system of Google+. You...

Facebook improves its instant conversations system which now includes a videocalling system. To access the feature visit the dedicated page: http://www.facebook.com/videocalling You will then have access to a new chat system displaying in priority the people with whom you interact the most. When the size of your browser is large enough, the sidebar will automatically appear on your window. You can also create group conversations by inviting people to come talk to you.
